One of my favorite places in the world is the terrace at Jim's Apartment. Drinking coffee and watering the plants in the morning, driniking wine and talking with friends at twilight and gazing across the roofs to Tibidabo under the moon...it's a magical place. Staying in Jim's apartment beats any hotel. It's easy walking to great markets, one of the city's best wine merchants, and fine restaurants. It's a short walk to two metro lines that take you anywhere in the city. I recommend Jim's Apartment to anyone who wants to live in or visit Barcelona.

I visited Jim's BCN Apt in the summer of 2005 with my daughter and a traveling companion and we were all mesmerized by the whole trip. Barcelona, of course, is an amazing place, but Jim's apartment made the trip so much more enjoyable. Its location was central and close to public transportation. The conveniences of the apartment itself were modern and fun. The patio has breathtaking views of the mountains and the buildings with a panorama that practically reaches down to the water on the beach. We have some great memories from those days and we truly got to relax and feel at home, while still taking in some amazing sites and meeting some glorious people.

A perfect way to begin the day in a near-perfect city is having coffee and croissants on the terrace at Jim's penthouse apartment in Barcelona! In this spacious comfortable apartment, you can live like a native, shopping in the neighborhood wine stores, charcuteries, and bakeries, preparing an evening dinner to enjoy as you watch the sunset lighting up the Mediterranean Sea. Jim lives here part of the time too so the apartment is exceptionally well taken care of with many familiar American conveniences.

We were thrilled to discover Jim's apartment in Barcelona several years ago, have returned to it every year since, and intend to continue using it each year.

We fell in love with the apartment the first time we stayed there, enjoying its thoughtful inclusion of full amenities, and since then Jim has added quite a few enhancements to it, including new living room furniture, a new refrigerator, a new washing machine and a marvelous colorful paint job reminiscent of parts of Mexico and the Mediterranean.

We spend a lot of time on the lovely spacious terrace, enjoying the feeling of seclusion surrounded by plants, while right in the heart of the city with a terrific view.

We like the neighborhood because all the essentials are within comfortable walking distance, but not in the middle of the tourist sections, yet all the sights and activities are an easy shot on the metro or bus (both of which are fun ways to explore).

There is so much to see and do in and around the magnificent, magical city of Barcelona, then perfectly to easily return home to the privacy and well-appointed comfort of Jim's apartment.
